Happy 50th Independence Barbados!!

There are a lot of reasons why I love my island. As much as I love to travel and I love living in other places like New York or Montreal, there’s a feeling of home from being here that can’t be replaced. Whether I’ve been gone for a week or a year, there’s such a feeling of relief when you walk through those airport doors knowing that I’m home. It really gives meaning to the phrase “I live where you vacation”. Here are a few reasons why I love my island as we celebrate our 50th year of independence today, November 30, 2016. 🙂

For one, you don’t have to drive too far to see some good scenery or views.

Not only are we an island that has a great history, there are still a lot of historical structures standing which carry so many stories with them.

Our beaches are really world class, some favoured by some of the best surfers in the world.

Our sunsets are what you would find on postcards.

And really the food is so diverse you can find something for everyone.
